We got some really great feedback from those who attended Chandoo's online Excel course in September - registrations are opening again on 12th January if you missed out on the last round!
Those who've been following me for a while will know that I'm a big fan of using online resources as much as possible.
Whilst it's great to come on a live training course and get a really intensive experience, sometimes it's just all too hard to get there in person. Nothing can beat the live experience, especially when communication, case studies and team work are a key component of the course, for those "touchy-feely" subjects. But if you're just learning Excel, I'd definitely recommend an online course!
In Plum Solutions Financial Analysis training courses, we don't teach Excel as such, rather we focus on the use of Excel in the context of Financial Modelling, Budgeting & Forecasting, or Data Analysis. We focus on things like model structure, best practice, error prevention and other practical topics that are critical for a good modeller to know. However, it's very hard to be a good modeller without having good Excel skills! That's why we recommend a reasonable level of Excel as a pre-requisite for coming on one of our courses.
I've been recommending the online newsletter from Chandoo for a while now, and I'm excited to discover that he's brought out a new Excel School. Registrations open on 12th January. As soon as you sign up, you get access to around 24 hours of video content for 12 months, which is not bad value for $US67 (online only) or $US97 (online + download). There is now also a Dashboard Training option as well.
